Still Creating

I've finished creating/designing another scarf, but I can't upload the pattern here yet because it's a Christmas present for my sister (and she might see this blog).
But I have been creative.  Last weekend I got a jewelry making kit and I've made some stitch markers!
I think they came out pretty well.

Los Angeles Kings Scarf

Los Angeles Kings Scarf
Created by Lyndee Pitiak

My brother in law is an avid Los Angeles Kings fan (for those of you that may not know – they’re a hockey team).  So for Christmas I knitted him a team scarf.

It’s double knit with two colors, so the image is reversed on the other side.

Materials:
220 yds of worsted weight yarn in black and grey (I used 1 skein each of Red Heart Super Saver Economy (7 oz/364 yds) in black and grey heather)
Size 8 knitting needles

With both colors held together, cast on 22 stitches.
Row 1:  Slip first two stitches (one of each color) pearl-wise, knit the grey and pearl the black across (20 stitches), remembering to start with the grey yarn for each pair (they may have become twisted when you casted on), knit last two stitches (grey and black) together, turn
Row 2 and subsequent rows:  Slip first two stitches (one of each color) pearl-wise, work the chart (remembering that each square represents two stitches, one in grey and one in black), knit last two stitches together, turn
Repeat first two logos (crown and hockey sticks) – between heavy red lines, five times (or more if you want a longer scarf) then work next two logos (hockey sticks and crown) – between heavy green lines, five times (or equivalent to the number of times you repeated before).

After completing the chart, bind off knitting each pair together (grey and black) rather than individually.  Weave in ends.  Block and add fringe, if desired.  Wear proudly while rooting for the Kings!
